Crystalmark is a useful benchmark to measure theoretical performance levels of hard drives and SSD’s. We are using V3.0.3. We test the Samsung 250GB 850 EVO drive and the Seagate Barracuda 3TB.
The Samsung 250GB 850 EVO Drive is a great performer although we expected a little more from the drive in this test – we think OCUK are using one of the ASMedia ASM1061 controlled ports for this drive, rather than one of the native Intel controlled ports. HDD performance is as good as we would expect – hitting 200MB/s in both read and write tests.
As we said after the CrystalDiskMark test, we think the lower performance from the SSD is related to OCUK using one of the ASMEDIA controlled SATA ports on the motherboard, its easy enough to move it over. HDD performance is strong.

Actually, we sell these systems all day long – why would they need their head examined? It’s an expensive system, but it’s high end components and comes with a warranty service and professional build quality. Granted some people prefer to build their own – but for those who want to save the hassle then this is a great solution for a high-end build. Some people invest into stocks, some people invest into cars, some people invest into computers. All relative.

Gorgeousssss computer. Wish I would have seen this before I built my own setup on Air Cool. Looks amazing.
Its fair enough that people can choose what to spend their money on, however my personal opinion is that it offers extremely poor value for money, I’m not going to price every individual piece but it seems that you’re charging around £1000 to build this machine, I and many others can knock an air cooled rig together in under 30 mins it’s really easy, granted water cooling system takes much longer but still not enough to justify that kind of markup.
