Zelda, Pokemon and more rumoured to be added to Super Nintendo World

In partnership with Universal, Nintendo has been building its own suite of theme park attractions and locations, with the past few years seeing the opening of Super Nintendo World in Japan and Hollywood. As part of the company’s plans for expansion, Nintendo looks set to introduce dedicated Zelda, Pokemon and Luigi’s Mansion attractions.

As reported by the theme park-focused ‘Orlando Park Stop’, Nintendo is planning to introduce a whole bunch of popular IPs and franchises into their future parks. Currently, the two open Super Nintendo World locations are focused primarily on Mario and Yoshi.

That said, in the wake of the news that Nintendo is prepping a Donkey Kong Country area in its Japanese park, ‘Orlando Park Stop’ revealed that many more iconic franchises and familiar faces are set to appear over the coming years.

According to the report, Universal Studios Florida will see its current Simpsons land replaced by Pokemon. Lost Continent in Islands of Adventure will be replaced by The Legend of Zelda and last but not least, Luigi’s Mansion is rumoured to be in development for Universal’s Epic Universe in Orlando.

Additional details on how the actual rides will function can be found HERE, but regardless it is interesting to see Nintendo rather rapidly taking over Universal’s many theme parks across the world. Hopefully a European Super Nintendo World opens up sooner rather than later.
