TMNT Cowabunga Collection updated with added multiplayer and more

TMNT The Cowabunga Collection launched earlier this year to great success, bringing together all of the classic Turtles titles into one attractive and modern package. Unfortunately, the collection was missing online functionality for some of its games – though this is now being rectified.

As reported by Game Informer, TMNT The Cowabunga Collection has just received its first major update, bringing with it a whole host of improvements and added functionality. Though the list of changes is extensive, some of the biggest improvements is as follows:

  • PS4 arcade controller is now supported. PS4 joystick support has now been implemented (PS5)
  • Xbox arcade stick is now supported. Xbox joystick support has now been implemented (XB1/XSX)
  • When creating an online lobby, the player can now set the frame delay to “Automatic”. When this is set, the input lag adjusts according to the number of players.
  • Multiple enhancements to various games across the board, including adjustable difficulty, button combos and more
  • A new color enhancement added to all Game Boy games
  • Visual settings are saved per game

This is but a few of the many quality-of-life improvements brought about by this latest update. More substantial additions include the ability to now play TMNT IV: Turtles in Time for Super Nintendo online – with Manhattan Project said to be also getting an online update, though sometime in the future.

For some, the biggest change might be the fact that the Switch’s game icon is no longer ugly, instead being replaced by a much more thematically linked and attractive icon. TMNT The Cowabunga Collection was already an excellent package, and this update has just made it so much better.
