The Dead Space Remake has gone Gold

With The Callisto Protocol out and available to all, those with a hankering for some Space-themed survival horror goodness are looking towards early 2023, when the Dead Space Remake is set to release. Over a month in advance of its launch day, the game has officially gone gold.

Making the announcement on Twitter, Motive Studio – the team behind the game – said “WE ARE WHOLE AGAIN. The entire Motive team is excited to announce that Dead Space has gone gold! Thanks to all the fans who supported us this far. See you all on January 27th!”

‘Going Gold’ means that the Dead Space Gold Master disc has been submitted to EA. Following the submission of the gold master, discs can be pressed with the finalised software, and the storefronts can upload the ‘final’ version of the game ready for release. It’s a process that every game in development goes through, and means that (aside from post-launch patches) the game is complete and ready to play.

Of course, as we witnessed with The Callisto Protocol itself, going gold with plenty of time to spare does not necessarily mean the game will be bug free when it finally launches. That being said, it is still a good indication that things are going relatively smoothly ahead of Dead Space’s launch on the 27th of January.
