The Callisto Protocol reportedly omits dozens of developers from its credits

A practice common throughout the entire history of the industry, it is unfortunately far too often that a game will be released while not crediting the full staff of developers who worked on the title. One of the latest titles to reportedly not credit its developers properly is The Callisto Protocol.

Following a lengthy hype period, The Callisto Protocol released late last year to somewhat middling reviews. Good reviews or not, everyone who worked on the game should have their name in the credits. Unfortunately, this isn't the case, with former Striking Distance Studios employees talking to Gamesindustry.biz to reveal that around 20 of the game’s developers have been uncredited.

Speaking on this, one dev said “I understand if a contractor does a small amount of work for a few months and is left off, but we're talking full-time employees with over a year invested in the title, and had a hand in significant parts of the product. That's where the surprise has come from for a lot of us.”

Another developer speaking on the matter claimed “I actually had a great time working there, and I felt I had a great relationship with everyone on the team, up to the C-staff and Glen. I don't have anything bad to say about Glen… The only time there was some friction was on exit, and I think devs who left were punished with credit omissions.”

Not crediting creators for their work is an unfortunate practice which is practised throughout almost all creative industries. If what is being claimed is true, It’s a shame to see a newly developed and supposedly forward-facing studio resort to such shady and scummy tactics.
