Take-Two announces plans to re-release two older titles this year

In the past week a rumour has sprung up claiming that Take-Two Interactive is planning to remaster 2011’s open-world cowboy simulator Red Dead Redemption. Following these leaks, Take-Two themselves have added fuel to the fire by confirming that they are working on multiple re-releases.

As reported by the Rockstar Games-focused Twitter page ‘videotechx’, during Take-Two’s most recent earnings call, the holding company revealed their plans for the ongoing 2024 Fiscal year (ending March 2024).

According to Take-Two, they plan on releasing 16 titles during the next Fiscal year. Some of the games were named (such as LEGO 2K Drive), however more interestingly, the company also revealed that two re-releases are in the works, saying:

“We also plan to launch 2 new iterations of previously-released titles, and 3 independent titles, including Private Division’s planned May 23rd release of After Us from Piccolo Studio.”

As mentioned, recent rumours have claimed that a remaster of Red Dead Redemption 1 is in the works. Considering the fact that the game never got a PC release nor an 8th-gen remaster, RDR is ripe for re-releasing. It will be interesting to see what the second re-release is planned to be – Red Dead Redemption 2 perhaps?
