Stylish metroidvania ‘Tales of Kenzera: Zau’ coming day-one to PS Plus

Back during the 2023 Game Awards, Tales of Kenzera: Zau was announced: A “story-driven action-exploration game inspired by Bantu tales”. Despite being the studio’s debut title, it has garnered a great deal of attention – so much so that it is being added to PlayStation Plus on the day of release.

Making the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, publisher EA said: “Eventually, we all will contend with grief. It can come in many forms and from many different sources. Surgent Studios’ (founded by Abubakar Salim) debut game, Tales of Kenzera: Zau, is a 2.5D story-driven, action-exploration game all about facing those emotions and discovering how love gives us the courage to press on after a devastating loss, and it’s coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog at launch on April 23rd, 2024!”

Being added specifically to PS Plus Extra and Premium, the title will be available to play for as long as it remains on the service.

As mentioned, Tales of Kenzera: Zau is a metroidvania not too dissimilar to the likes of the recently released Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.

Featuring exciting combat and movement abilities alongside a seemingly heartfelt story, Tales of Kenzera: Zau is one to keep an eye on.
