SEGA reportedly bringing back multiple dormant franchises

In recent years we have seen SEGA renewing its focus on the video games industry, giving its games more time and money to ensure they are as quality as possible. The publisher has in recent months discussed the idea of bringing back older games and franchises in new ways, and now according to one insider, at least two of SEGA’s dormant franchises are set to make a comeback.

As reported by trusted industry insider Shpeshal Nick during the Xbox Era podcast, “I was told some of the stuff SEGA were looking into to bring back. Now, there's the obvious one that leaked which was Jet Set Radio. And then I’ve got one on my list that I was like ‘oooh I’ve been asking for SEGA to look into this franchise for a long time’ – Altered Beast.”

Nick continued, “And then another game was Gunstar Heroes. I got told they’re having a look at Gunstar Heroes too”. It is worth noting that as of right now it is unknown what form these franchises will return in – be it a remaster, remake, reboot or a new entry entirely. We will have to wait and see.

KitGuru says: Despite its reputation, I have always enjoyed Altered Beast and would welcome a new entry in the series. What SEGA franchise would you like to see the publisher revive? Let us know down below.
