PS5 exclusive ‘Stellar Blade’ has gone GOLD

Stellar Blade is an interesting looking fast paced spectacle fighter which feels like a cross between NieR Automata and Bayonetta. Set to launch exclusively for PS5 on the 26th of April, the game has now officially gone Gold – concluding a relatively long development period.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Stellar Blade account said “We're a little late with this post. GONE GOLD,” sharing an image of the full development team celebrating this major milestone (seen below).

For the uninitiated, ‘Going Gold’ means that the Stellar Blade master disc has been submitted to the game’s publisher: Sony/PlayStation. Following the submission of the gold master, discs can be pressed with finalised software and digital storefronts can upload the 1.0 version of the game ready for release.

It’s a process that every game in development goes through, and means that (aside from post-launch patches) Stellar Blade should be complete and ready to play.

Being the first title from Shift Up’s ‘Second EVE Studio’ it will be interesting to see how the game is received upon its release. That said, we do have somewhat of an idea due to the release of a demo a couple weeks ago – indicating that Stellar Blade could become something quite special. We will have to wait and see; though fortunately it won’t be long before Stellar Blade is out and available.
