Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown roadmap revealed

For over a decade, Ubisoft had pretty much ignored the Prince of Persia franchise in favour of Assassin’s Creed. That said, released almost two months ago, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown reinvented the franchise as a metroidvania to great success. After promising future free updates, the team have now shared their roadmap.

Late last month, the team at Ubisoft Montpellier revealed that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown would be getting a bunch of free updates over the course of 2024. Making the announcement via Twitter, the team have now shared their full roadmap.

The first free update arrives on the 20th of March and brings with it a speedrun mode; a permadeath mode and four new outfits. The second wave of free DLC arrives sometime in Spring and will include a Boss Rush mode as well as more outfit.

The last set of free DLC drops during the Summer and will include new combat, platform and puzzle challenges via the Divine Trials – alongside new amulets, outfits “and more.”

Finally, The Lost Crown looks set to be getting one piece of paid DLC. Coming ‘Later in 2024’ Prince of Persia will see some form of new story DLC added – the details of which will be shared at a later date.

All in all, Ubisoft looks to be supporting Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown in all the right ways. Hopefully the new amulets offer substantive gameplay changes for even more replayability.
