In the almost decade-long redemption arc for Hello Games and No Man’s Sky, the game has received countless transformative updates – from visual overhauls to engine optimisations, new features and so much more. Unfortunately, one of the few requested features still missing was the implementation of a cross-save system. Finally, as part of the game’s latest update, No Man’s Sky has gotten cross-saves support, 8K visuals on PS5 Pro and a whole lot more.
Despite being a smaller patch when compared to No Man’s Sky’s most recent updates, the game’s latest version – patch 5.25 – brings with it some highly appreciated additions.
Alongside a bunch of bug/crash fixes, and a return of the Normandy Expedition in honour of Mass Effect’s N7 day, the latest update brings with it one highly-requested feature which has been in the works for over 6 months: cross saves.
As stated by Sean Murray and co. “Cross-Save is now enabled for No Man’s Sky, allowing players to transfer save games between all platforms.”
It is worth noting that as of right now, the feature is “being released as a limited beta with a restricted number of places, which will be increased in the coming weeks.”
Given just how many platforms No Man’s Sky is available on, the addition of cross saves is a much appreciated feature.
As mentioned, the update also brings with it PS5 Pro support, utilising the console’s PSSR upscaler for improved 4K 60fps gameplay, as well as a new 8K 30fps mode – alongside other visual enhancements such as improved lighting; ultra quality reflections and higher quality ambient occlusion in all modes.
