Monster Hunter Wilds is the best-selling game of 2025 so far (in the US)

While Monster Hunter Wilds launched to some controversy due to the game’s PC port, there’s no denying that Capcom’s latest and greatest has captured and captivated many fans both old and new. With over 1.3 million concurrent players, the game is undeniably a hit. Even so, Monster Hunter Wilds continues to exceed expectations, currently sitting as easily the best-selling game of 2025 so far.

As reported by Mat Piscatella (via Circana/BlueSky), we’ve gotten our first look at the best selling games of the year so far – at least in the US.

Ranging from the 5th of January to the 1st of March 2025, the top 10 best-selling titles of 2025 so far include the following:

  1. Monster Hunter Wilds
  2. Kingdom Come Deliverance II
  3. Civilization VII
  4. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
  5. NBA 2K25
  6. PGA Tour 2K25
  7. Madden NFL 25
  8. Grand Theft Auto V
  9. EA Sports FC 25
  10. Minecraft

Monster Hunter Wilds

While the top 10 list features many games which were released prior to 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds dominating the charts so quickly is worth noting – especially as the game only launched on the 28th of February (meaning just a single day ahead of the list’s creation).

Kingdom Come Deliverance II’s performance is similarly impressive. While the game did have roughly a month on the market prior to this report, the Action-RPG hails from a much smaller developer and publisher – and so achieving second place is nothing to sniff at.

Of course, as the year progresses and more big titles are released, we will see this top 10 shift quite a bit. Still, it is impressive to see Monster Hunter Wilds becoming the best-selling game of the year so far based on a single 24 hours worth of sales.

KitGuru says: What do you think of the list so far? How much do you reckon it’ll change over the next 9 months? What will take 2nd place after GTA VI by the end of the year? Let us know your thoughts down below.
