MLB The show 23 will once again arrive day-one on Xbox Game Pass

The situation surrounding MLB The Show is an odd one indeed. Initially a PlayStation exclusive franchise, Sony’s hand was somewhat forced into bringing the series to other platforms – though it is still developed by a Sony first-party studio. Despite this long association, MLB The Show 21 and 22 both came day-one to Xbox Game Pass. MLB The Show 23 will be no different.

MLB The Show 23 recently received its ‘Cover Athlete Reveal’ via a new trailer. Interestingly, in the description for the video on Xbox’s YouTube channel it states: “On March 28th 2023, play MLB The Show 23 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and with Xbox Game Pass on day one.”

As mentioned, ever since MLB The Show went multiplatform, the Baseball title has been a day-one Game Pass release, and so it is somewhat unsurprising to see this continue into 2023.

Still the fact that PlayStation 5 owners will need to pay $70 to play a first-party title while it is being included day-one on Xbox Game Pass continues to be highly interesting.
