Leaked Switch 2 details reaffirmed by industry insider

Last week we reported on a number of leaked details claiming to be pertaining to the upcoming as-of-yet-unannounced Nintendo Switch 2. While this report came from a reputable source, another industry insider has now reaffirmed these leaked details – adding further fuel to the fire.

During a recent episode of insider Nate the Hate’s podcast, it was claimed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will feature a “fairly significant amount of internal flash memory” when compared to the current-gen handheld hybrid, with it possibly even including a whole 512GB of storage. For context, the current base Switch comes with just 32GB (with the OLED model boosting this to 64GB).

Additionally, one feature which will unfortunately see a downgrade from the current Switch is the screen as according to Nate, this new console will once again return to using an LCD panel. While its size will be increased to 8-inches (compared to the Switch’s 6.2 and the OLED’s 7 inches), the downgrade from the OLED model will be disappointing to see if this is indeed the case.

Now, another well-known insider ‘Andy Robinson of VGC’ has corroborated these claims calling them “on the money”, seemingly confirming that these details are indeed legitimate. Of course, it is worth nothing that many things can change between now and its supposed late 2024 release date, and so these details should still be taken with a pinch of salt. That said, it is interesting to be getting semi-concrete information on what Nintendo has planned next.
