Kojima announces Death Stranding 2 showcase for later this month

Prior to the start of Gamescom, Hideo Kojima began to tease Death Stranding 2 once again, leading many to believe that the game would show up at Geoff Keighley’s then-upcoming industry showcase. This did not come to be, however, it appears as though the teaser was in fact leading up to a TGS announcement, as PlayStation is set to introduce “DEATH STRANDING 2 Special Stage with Hideo Kojima and Daichi Miura.”

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Kojima Productions page shared the following: “PlayStation Presents ‘DEATH STRANDING 2’ Special Stage confirmed for Tokyo Game Show 2024! Hideo Kojima and Daichi Miura will host the event and talk about ‘DEATH STRANDING 2’ with a splendid lineup of guests. Our first time on stage in 5 years, please enjoy!”

For the uninitiated, Daichi Miura is a well-known Japanese singer-songwriter whose music covers a range of genres. Most likely, his presence at the showcase indicates his involvement with the DS2’s score/soundtrack – though we will have to wait for the event to officially find out.

The music in Death Stranding was a core part of the overall experience, and was used excellently during pivotal moments. Hopefully the sequel is able to capture the same vibes.
