Hi-Fi RUSH and Pentiment to be first multi-platform Xbox games

Over the past few weeks, the internet has been ablaze with leaks and rumours which claim that Microsoft is set to go fully multiplatform – in essence giving up on competing with its consoles and focusing instead on games. While the company has yet to confirm anything, one insider has already revealed the first 3 gets set to come to PlayStation/Switch.

According to notable insider Tom Warren (via The Verge), Microsoft is indeed set to bring its Xbox games to other platforms, and will begin with 2023’s surprise hit Hi-Fi RUSH and the Obsidian Entertainment-developed Pentiment.

Beyond these two games, Warren claims that Rare’s live-service success story ‘Sea of Thieves’ will then be next in line for a multiplat release – said to be releasing some time later this year.

Aside from these three games, Warren has stated that “other first-party titles [are] also under consideration,” though little else is known at the time.

Of course, all of this should hopefully be cleared up very soon, with Microsoft announcing that they will be releasing a new episode of the official Xbox podcast tomorrow – 15th of February – featuring Phil Spencer to discuss the brand’s future. We won’t have long to wait.
