Full Discord integration is finally coming to PlayStation with next major update

Back in 2021 it was announced that PlayStation was partnering with Discord to bring the highly popular messaging/communication service onto Sony’s consoles. Over a year and a half later, it seems this integration is finally ready to go live with the next major PlayStation 5 system software update.

As reported by Insider Gaming, the PlayStation 5’s 7.0 system software update is set to go live on the 8th of March. Ahead of this however, as always Sony will be releasing the update in beta format, with sources claiming this will go live within the next few days.

According to Insider Gaming this update will bring with it at least two major features: that being the long-awaited Discord Integration as well as PlayStation 5 game cloud streaming – though the latter will reportedly be limited to PlayStation Plus Premium members.

It is worth noting that despite the beta dropping in the next few days, the Discord integration won’t be going live until the update’s full release in March. Still, with Discord being so ubiquitous with gaming, this upcoming software update will be huge for PlayStation players.
