Bungie job listing hints at new IP in development

After working on Destiny for pretty much a decade, Bungie finally announced their latest upcoming project: Marathon. It would seem as though this is not the only new game currently in the works at Bungie as a job listing has now seemingly confirmed that the team is developing a brand new IP.

As discovered by Reddit user ‘RichardAYBuck’ Bungie recently posted multiple new job listings hinting at the development of a brand new IP – with the description for ‘incubation gameplay engineering lead’ reading as follows:

“Would you like to work on a new IP and new genre at Bungie that combines amazing action feel with lighthearted and whimsical characters? Are you excited to work on joyful PvP combat and action gameplay?”

Offering a few more additional details, both this and another job listing [incubation QA director] ask for experience with developing “games as a service” titles, suggesting that it too will follow in the footsteps of Destiny and Marathon.

Finally, the listings also seem to suggest that this new project is being developed using Unreal Engine as opposed to Bungie’s own Blam!/Tiger engine. With Bungie having worked exclusively on Destiny for so long it is exciting to know that we might be getting multiple new projects from the studio.
