Borderlands 4 release date announced

Late last year, Gearbox officially announced and showed off Borderlands 4. Said to be coming some time in 2025, the latest PlayStation State of Play featured official confirmation of the game’s release date and more – set to arrive on the 23rd of September.

Making the announcement during last night’s State of Play, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford officially confirmed that Borderlands 4 is set to launch later this year on the 23rd of September.

Beyond the State of Play trailer, the team confirmed that a full-blown deep-dive presentation is scheduled for sometime “this Spring.”

While visually quite similar to 2019’s Borderlands 3, the sequel seems to be going all-out when it comes to gameplay, with multiple new movement abilities including a double jump, dodge, grapple and even gliding.

Hopefully we will get a closer look at all these new changes/additions during the upcoming Borderlands 4 State of Play in a couple months.
