Apex Legends is nerfing controller aim assist following fan feedback

While the standardisation of cross-play has been a great thing for video game players of all types, it has led to some situations in which developers need to rebalance their game in order to accommodate both controller and M&K players. Running into this exact problem, Respawn Entertainment has announced that they will be changing controller aim assist in Apex Legends.

Ahead of the upcoming release of Apex Legends Season 22 ‘Shockwave’ the team at Respawn Entertainment have published an early look at some of the patch notes set to come with next week’s update.

Among many major changes and additions, Respawn revealed that they will be making some significant alterations to the way controller aim assist works in cross-play lobbies – reducing its strength by 25%. That said console-only lobbies will keep its current aim assist levels intact.

The full patch notes for Season 22 will drop on Monday, but so far, all of the changes and additions seem to be quite exciting.
