Amazon Luna partners with Ubisoft to offer ‘free’ access to game streaming

For many, game streaming is not yet robust enough to dedicate wholly towards one of the many available services. Ubisoft fans with an Amazon Prime subscription however can now look forward to greater flexibility with where they play, as the publisher has partnered with Amazon Luna – allowing you to play your Ubisoft games for free wherever you may be.

From today, all those with an Amazon Prime subscription will be able to stream their Ubisoft Connect library of titles for ‘free’ using Amazon’s Luna game streaming service. What this means is that regardless of your hardware, as long as you have an active internet connection (and own the game through Ubisoft Connect), you can now play almost 50 of the publisher’s titles.

Amazon Luna allows you to play games at 1080p/60fps with cross saves and cross progression – for maximum seamlessness when switching from your computer hardware to internet-based streaming.

Available across a plethora of devices including PC; Mac; Fire TV; Samsung Smart TVs; smartphones; Chromebooks and more, the list of Ubisoft titles playable through Luna includes:

  • Rainbow Six: Siege and Extraction
  • Immortals Fenyx Rising
  • Watch Dogs 1, 2 and Legion
  • The Division 1 and 2
  • Ghost Recon
  • All Far Cry games (sans 1 and 3)
  • 9 Assassin’s Creed titles

This is but a portion of the full list of games available, and hopefully even more will be added in the future. Currently, Amazon Luna is unfortunately not yet available in the UK – with the service having only left Early Access earlier this year in March.

This latest announcement makes it clear that Amazon is still working on improving the service and adding value, and so hopefully this means that a global release is not too far away.
