100 OLED Steam Decks being given away during The Game Awards

Last year, in collaboration with Valve, Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards gave away a Steam Deck for every minute that the awards ceremony was live. The two have partnered up once again, this time giving away a total of 100 OLED Steam Decks to viewers.

Making the announcement on Twitter, The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley said “Thursday, tune into #TheGameAwards for your chance to win 100 Steam Deck OLEDs (1 TB version) starting at 4:30p PT / 7:30p ET / 12:30a GMT. Enter during the show at http://tgasteamdeck.com.”

While perhaps not the most convenient timing for those in the UK, Keighly shared more specific details on how to enter, saying “No Purchase Necessary. Entry between 4:30pm PST – 8pm PST on Dec 7 2023 (12:30am GMT – 4am GMT (8 Dec 2023).”

As mentioned, a similar giveaway took place last year during The Game Awards, though instead of a maximum of 100 Steam Decks, one device was given away every single minute that the show was live. This change was likely to have been made due to the inconsistent nature of the show – such as what we saw with Christopher Judge’s acceptance speech during last year’s event; being a record-breaking 8-minutes long.

Regardless of whether it is 1 or 100 Steam Decks, being able to get your hands on Valve’s latest piece of hardware for free will be incentive enough for some to tune into the show.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this giveaway? Will you enter? Why do you think they capped it to 100 Decks this year? Let us know down below.
