Video game leaks come from all kinds of unlikely places. We've seen plans for a Tomb Raider game leaked due to someone leaving their laptop open on a train. Other leaks have happened simply by walking into the bars near game studio offices. The most recent GTA 6 reveal makes the list for unusual leaks, as it appears to have come from an office janitor.
Earlier this week, someone shared a picture of Grand Theft Auto 6 running on a PS5 dev kit, from inside of a massive office building, believed to be Rockstar San Diego. The person who posted the picture stated that they received it from their friend who worked in corporate cleaning services.
The picture is claimed to be several years old already and we know it is legitimate, as it matches up with other leaks we've seen from the game, as well as official footage from the trailer.
The person who took the photo in question no longer works at the Rockstar office. However, the poster who shared this did so with their Google Drive account, which contained their real name and photo, so we're pretty sure Take-Two will be able to figure out the source of the leak, if they haven't already.
With all of that said, the leak itself is relatively uninteresting, showing one of the game's two main characters standing on the road near a group of shipping containers and storage warehouses. If anything, the most interesting part of the leak is the candid-camera look inside Rockstar's office, which looks like… any other office.
This leak comes at a time when the hardcore GTA fandom is grasping at straws in hopes that more information will drop soon. There was a big movement last month that saw fans eagerly awaiting the 27th of December in hopes that a new trailer would drop. That date came and went without so much as a word from Rockstar.
Currently, Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to release in 2025, but there have been rumours of a potential delay to 2026.
KitGuru Says: Rockstar tends to keep a very closed lid on leaks, but with so much of the world anticipating GTA 6 at this stage, we're not surprised to see that even the office cleaners are excited about the game.
