Monster Hunter Wilds PC system requirements announced

With Monster Hunter Wilds now set to launch in February 2025, Capcom has announced the PC system requirements for the game. So far though, it looks like it will be a difficult game to run, with the system requirements targeting 1080p resolution at 60FPS with Frame Generation switched on.

Capcom is relying on Frame Generation to get players up to the 60FPS quality bar, so if you are playing on something like an RTX 4060, or an RTX 2070 Super, you may have to deal with additional latency in order to get your frame rate up.

Here are the full PC system requirements:

Minimum (1080p/30FPS):

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-10600 / Intel Core i3-12100F / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 / AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • DirectX: Version 12

Recommended (1080p/60FPS with Frame Generation):

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-11600K / Intel Core i5-12400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X / AMD Ryzen 5 5500
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 / Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 / AMD Radeon RX 6700XT
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • DirectX: Version 12

While Frame Generation is an incredibly useful feature at times, it is better served at higher frame rates, as there will be less latency to contend with. When you are trying to get from 30FPS to 60FPS, issues can arise. Previous press previews had also noted that Monster Hunter Wilds had the most aggressive dynamic resolution seen on a current-gen game, so console gamers will be facing a bit of a challenge too.
