Ferrari by Logic3 T350 Headphones Review

Despite the large mass of Ferrari by Logic3's T350 headphones, the unit's wide, leather-covered, foam headband does an excellent job of evenly distributing the hefty 334g load in a comfortable manor. The T350's weight distribution is simply excellent – at no point did it feel like the large – 334g – pair of headphones was too much to handle.

Thanks to the flexibility of the headband and, to a lesser extent, the ear cups, the T350s make it easy to create a comfortable wearing style. We were very surprised by how pleasant the usage experience of the Cavallino Collection's T350 headphones was.

The Ferrari by Logic3 T350 headphones simply sat on our head and streamlined into our day-to-day tasks without discomfort or interference.

Each 90mm-diameter ear pad features an internal hole of 50mm-diameter in which one's ears reside. With the ear cups being constructed from a soft and comfortable leather-covered foam material, our ears were treated to a very pleasant wearing experience.

The 50mm-diameter internal gap is sized appropriately for the main section of one's ear to fit inside, with the earlobe sitting on the edge of the gap, resting on the soft foam material. In one particular session, the T350 headphones were worn and used for a non-stop period of five hours and at no point did we feel the need to remove the unit from our head.

There were instances where we didn't even think about the headphones being worn – a testament to the long-lasting comfort of the design's relaxed wearing style.

The feedback that we are most overjoyed to provide is that our ears didn't overheat when wearing the T350 headphones for extended periods of time. Not even a non-stop, five hour bout of music could increase our ear temperature to an uncomfortable level. Granted, the closed-back design and thick ear pads forced our ears to start off at a slightly higher temperature than other headphones did, but the level of heat remained constant rather than increase at an alarming rate, as is the case with many alternative sets.

This is a point worthy of praise as we have experienced overheating issues with many sets of headphones that are less than half the weight of Ferrari by Logic3's T350s. Users can again thank the pair's good weight distribution for the perfectly-bearable temperatures as very little pressure is exerted upon one's ears.

Around 32 mm of adjustment is provided by each metal strut of the T350s. Users with larger heads can adjust the T350s so that the foam headband sits on the top of their head, hence distributing the weight away from one's ears.

Performance of the Ferrari by Logic3 T350 headphones is very good. A wide range of tones were effectively rendered, making the listening experience a pleasant one. We tested a variety of music genres, including classical, pop, hip-hop, R&B, rap and rock & roll and were impressed by the T350 headphones' ability to cope with each of these diverse work loads.

The sound quality was crisp and clear, and we were particularly impressed by the perceived depth of sound. Increasing the volume to near painful levels didn't result in distortion or a noticeable degradation of quality.

Bass levels were acceptable, although not quite as thundering as we would have liked when listening to R&B, rap and rock & roll music. Playback of classical music was smooth – the T350s offer a good balance between the instrumental tones and artist's voice.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) performance of the Ferrari by Logic3 T350 headphones was superb. Low-level background noises such as case fans, clocks and even larger housing-calibre extractor fans were blocked without problems. The T350s had a tough time cancelling out the loud typing noise from our Cherry MX Red-touting CM Storm QuickFire TK keyboard, although the perceivable level was certainly damped by a considerable amount.

Our biggest complaint regarding the ANC technology is its constant background humming sound. This low-pitched noise isn't audible when listening to music at even a very low volume, but when there were small areas of silence in certain songs, the disturbance was clearly audible.

As expected, the T350 headphones' conversation performance was perfectly adequate. We had numerous conversations without suffering any speech-clarity issues. The in-line microphone's speech-registration performance was very good – a characteristic that can owe thanks to Logic3's effective positioning of the receiver.

The ANC technology's low-level background hum was far more noticeable in a speaking environment where there are often long pauses between the recipient's speeches.

We can confirm that the 1-button remote control worked perfectly with our Android-based Nexus 4 mobile phone. Long presses of the button opened a voice command window and ended calls, whereas short activations paused and played music and also answered phone calls.
