The HyperX Cloud Revolver headset is a nice looking piece of kit. It sticks to the tried and true black and red colour scheme which is so common among gaming hardware – though this one does not light up. The frame is flexible but strong and has a quality feel to it.

All edges are rounded off, stitches are neat and there is plenty of give without the design feeling weak or loose.

The ear cups feature a red styling on the side, which looks like it should light up when the headset is powered on. However this headset only uses 3.5mm connectors, so does not have the power for its own lighting.

Plus, lighting on the outside of the earcups is really just for vanity's sake, as if you cannot see it, there really is not a lot of point.

The inside of both earcups is padded with leatherette covered memory foam, with a cloth interior over the single 50mm drivers. The ear cup themselves have a little bit of give in all directions too, which should make fitting easier and improve overall comfort.

The frame for this headset is made of steel, which should mean no creaking when you turn your head around. However while the main frame is made from steel, the headband sits inside it on an elastic strip that can adjust to the size of your head as needed. This is quite different from the more traditional, slider design we saw with the first HyperX Cloud.

The headband itself is also covered in memory foam padding coated with leatherette, with a really neat red stitching which looks excellent against the black.

The volume control is quite simple, but features a mic-mute switch and it is in-line, so does not get in the way if you do not need it.

The microphone can be removed or added as required through a bespoke port on the left ear cup. It has some flexibility to it, but is mostly static with a little bit of give.

The cabling for this headset is braided with a smooth fabric and features a volume control half way along its length. At the far end are a pair of USB 3.5mm connectors for headphone and mic-out. They are also gold plated for added durability.
