Corsair Vengeance 1500 Gaming Headset Review

Overall we are very impressed with what the Corsair Vengeance 1500 has to offer.  The stylish and subtle visage of the headset is sure to appeal to a wide range of users even though some may prefer the more ‘exciting' designs of other headsets on the market.

Build quality is the main area in which the Vengeance 1500 excels.  The combination of high quality plastic and brushed aluminum gives the headset a very sturdy construction, giving us full confidence that it will be able to withstand some long term abuse.

As hoped, the performance of the headset was very strong throughout all of our gaming, movie and music tests.  Both Dolby Headphone and the 7.1 virtual surround sound technology give the gaming and movie experience an extra dimension and improve the overall audio quality.  We are also able to optimise the sound balance of the headset for different types of playback, using the presets within the control panel.

The Corsair Vengeance 1500 can be yours for £86 at Scan.co.uk.  This is a competitive price point, especially when factoring in the exceptional build quality and audio reproduction. It may cost a little extra when compared against some competing products, but Corsair really have put a lot of effort into the construction of the Vengeance 1500.

Pros

  • Sleek design.
  • Virtual surround sound.
  • Exceptional build quality.
  • Good sound quality.
  • Software utility.

Cons

  • A little pricey.

KitGuru says: A great all-round headset that offers great build and sound quality.

  1. Looks great. I always like corsair build quality and appearance. some of those gaming headsets look made for 13 year old girls.

  2. Great styling. I agree. this is on my shortlist with steelseries siberia. time to read more reviews.

  3. Corsair make great products. I love their latest speakers and cases. Their QC is top rate. Never had a problem with any of their hardware and I have mainly corsair hardware when I can. power supply, case, memory, speakers. wish they did monitors too !

  4. Great review henry, thanks. ill be looking for these next pay day.

  5. Either these review are bought and payed for. Or I’m not sitting here with the same headset.

x Bass is poor even with the lower range EQ ramped up.
x Squeezes top of head after 30 min.
x Squeezes ears after 2 hours.
x The memory foam feels “cheap” around the ear.
x Volum rocket has to massive LED lights that cannot be turnet off.
x The 50mm dosent really do its job. 40 mm are just as good.

Im sticking with my Steelseries 5H v2 and shiping these back.

  6. Bought and paid for? I dont even think Corsair advertise here, lol.

I have the Corsair 1500 headphones and they are better sound quality than my steelseries. better bass response and clarity.

You either have a duff pair, or you have a hearing impediment. Or both. (and a fat head, they fit me perfectly).

  7. Heads and prefrences will allways be diffrent.

Reviewers all say that bass is lacking in them, and you need to make up for it with the EQ.

As for the fat head I’m soon 30, maybe this headset is aimed for puberty people, I don’t know.

My point in all this is to reflect that opinions are diffrent, and from reading reviews this headset comes out as the best headset in the world. But for many people this headset will be useless.

  8. I took my corsair headphones back and bought the cm storm sirius they are much better… Great review here on them too from zardon
