The next Oculus Quest may have leaked

It has been just over a year since the Oculus Quest first hit the market and roughly 18 months since the standalone VR headset was first revealed. Now, all eyes are on Oculus Connect in October, an event that could see the announcement of the Oculus Quest 2.

A known leaker, @h0x0d on Twitter, has posted a render of a new, previously unseen Oculus VR headset. At a glance, it looks like a clear revision of the Oculus Quest, with improved Touch Controllers and ergonomics.

Of course, we don't know if this will be a smaller ‘Oculus Quest S' upgrade akin to the Rift to Rift S, or a more substantial Oculus Quest 2. Mobile processors get significant upgrades seemingly each year, so perhaps we could see a jump from the Snapdragon 835 up to the newer Snapdragon 855 or 865 from Qualcomm.

Earlier this year, Oculus announced that it was discontinuing the Oculus Go and doubling down on the Quest, which the company sees as its main focus for VR moving forward.

KitGuru Says: Oculus Connect is a couple of months away, so we'll have to keep an eye out for any additional leaks in the lead up to it. Did many of you try out the original Oculus Quest? Would you like to see a Quest 2 this year, or do you think it might be too soon?
