Nvidia’s latest driver focuses on improving Vulkan performance and optimising for Rage 2

The latest Nvidia GeForce driver has arrived, bringing performance improvements and day-one optimisations for some of the biggest game releases this month. Today's driver release focuses on optimisations for Rage 2 and Total War: Three Kingdoms but should also bring a hefty performance boost to World War Z.

World War Z released a few weeks ago and according to Nvidia, the new 430.64 WHQL-certified driver boosts performance in that game by up to 18 percent depending on the GPU and resolution. The GTX 1650 all the way up to the RTX 2080Ti receive a performance bump of some kind, with the biggest boost coming to 1080p performance.

The new driver is better tuned for the Vulkan API, so you should see some performance improvement on other games that use Vulkan over DirectX 12. This is a Game Ready driver first and foremost though, so if you are planning on picking up Rage 2 or Total War: Three Kingdoms over the next week, then you will want to have this driver installed.

As always, some bug fixes are rolling out, including fixes for flickering in 3DMark Time Spy, SLI crashes in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, DX12 crashes in Hitman 2 and desktop flickering when playing a video on a secondary monitor.

KitGuru Says: Have any of you been playing World War Z recently? Has the latest driver helped improve performance?
