Edifier’s new noise-cancelling headset supports Hi-Res Audio Wireless with LDAC

We've seen plenty of wireless headsets with Hi-Res Audio certification launch over the last few years, but Hi-Res Audio Wireless is something a bit different. With support for the latest standard, Edifier has just released the WH950NB, a noise-cancelling wireless headset with Bluetooth 5.3 and LDAC support.

The Edifier WH950NB headset meets both Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Audio Wireless standards. That means it can deliver audio at up to 990Kbps (LDAC limit) regardless of how it is connected to the playback device.

To guarantee high-quality voice communications, the WH950NB uses four built-in microphones, which Edifier claims are integrated with the audio signal processor to reduce unnecessary background noise via ANC. The headset itself features 40mm composite titanium film drivers, with a peak frequency response of 40KHz. Wireless connection via Bluetooth 5.3 should allow for fast transitions from one device to another for better multitasking. The headset also comes with three sound presets, namely music, game (with 80ms rated latency), and theatre (offering a surround sound feeling).

Edifier reckons with just 10 minutes of charging, the WH950NB can offer up to 7 hours of playtime. A full charge takes 1.5 hours, but should provide up to 55 hours of audio or 34 hours of playing time with ANC enabled. For increased durability and comfort, the WH950NB use a brushed stainless-steel headband, protein leather, and memory foam padding on the earpads. Available in white or black, the WH950NB is available for £179.99.
