Asus ROG Ally base model rumoured to cost $599

The upcoming Asus portable gaming console has been the subject of many rumours and leaks in recent weeks. Now, another leak has emerged, this time shedding light on the expected price for the entry-level model. The leak claims that the console with the Ryzen Z1 chip will be priced at $599.99.

This new leak (from SnoopyTech) comes just two days after another leak that pegged the price for the higher-end model with a Z1 Extreme chip and 512GB of storage at $699.99. While Asus hasn't confirmed the leaks, they give gamers a good idea of what to expect regarding pricing for this much-anticipated device.

As a reminder, the ROG Ally base model will pack a 6C/12T chip (boost up to 5.0GHz) with a 4-CU RDNA 3 iGPU, an M.2 SSD with 256GB, and 16GB of LPDDR5. Assuming both price tags are accurate, an extra $100 will give two more cores, four more threads, 0.1GHz higher boost clock speed, an additional 256GB of storage and an iGPU with 12 CUs. On paper, that looks like a bargain.

Additionally, VideoCardz claims that both models will come with a 3-month Xbox Game Pass ultimate subscription bundled, allowing users to jump into cloud gaming immediately after getting their new handheld console. As this is a Windows 11 handheld, you'll also be able to run Game Pass titles locally.
