Tt eSPORTS ConsoleOne Gaming Headset

Overall we are a little disappointed with what the Thermaltake Tt eSPORTS ConsoleOne has to offer. We were impressed by the sound quality in our tests, but it was let down slightly by the lack of virtual surround sound technology.

The aesthetic design of the headset is quite attractive but the red logos on the earcups don't fit in well with the green and black colour scheme of the headset.

The build quality is let down by the use of cheap plastics in the construction which really don't reflect the high price tag of this headset.

It's good to see that Tt eSPORTS first console headset offers support for both PS3 and Xbox 360 as well as PC as it makes it very attractive for those gamers who own both consoles.

The reason we have been more negative about the ConsoleOne compared to the Shock is the substantial price difference between the two.  We don't feel that the addition of Xbox 360 and PS3 support should double the price of the headset.

The Shock seemed good value at £30 but the ConsoleOne certainly doesn't offer good value at £69.99 from Amazon.  We would like to see this model coming down to around the £40 mark before we would say it is worth considering.

Pros:

  • Good sound quality.

Cons:

  • Expensive.
  • Build quality doesn't reflect price.
  • Inconsistent colour scheme.

KitGuru says: The ConsoleOne would be much more attractive at £40.
