KitGuru announce Cryo Competition Winners

Our competition with Cryo PC was a resounding success, since it started we have had over 13,000 people who wanted to win a GTX460 and a Saitek Yoke and Pedals.

We have been hard at work selecting the winners and we wanted to announce the winners just as we email them to let them know the good news !

The question was:

Question: What prop driven, traditional piston combustion engine aircraft (i.e. not a Turbo prop) recorded the fastest speed ever? (unofficial but documented records also acceptable)

The acceptable answers are:

The record is held by the Grumman F8F Bear Cat or ‘Rare Bear’ at 528mph (over 3km), set on 21 August 1989 at the Reno Air Races, however the official FAI record set over a distance of 1000km is held by the Boeing B29 SuperFortress at 410mph on 20 June 1946.

The P47 Thunderbolt at 505mph and Supermarine Spiteful at 494mph would also both be acceptable answers (since the unmodified top speed of the F8F Bear Cat is 421mph, the record holder ).

The Winner of the GTX 460 and Yoke and Pedals is

Sherri Hough-Fordham from Newmarket in Suffolk

Please check your email Sherri on how to claim your prize and congratulations!
The ten runners up who each win a 2GB pen drive are:

Fiona Stainer
Susan Caria
Tom Hawes
Jenny Moore
Max Amos
Taylor Pickering
Colin Faulkner
Dominie Jeffrey
Charlie Bethell
Andrew Murphy
