480GB OCZ TR150 SSD winner announced!

Back at the start of February, we asked you – our readers – to tell us about the technology that you find most interesting. Essentially, we were asking you to vote on the ‘Coolest Tech for 2017'. You had the opportunity to opt in to a competition at the same time and, today, we announce the winner from the thousands of entries we received!

A quick look online shows that this drive is close to £150 in the UK and the 480GB version was our preferred choice when we looked at the family back in February 2016. The IOPS performance showed a big improvement over the previous generation, the Toshiba controller was solid with both incompressible and compressible data and the 7mm chassis is practical for use in a super-portable laptop. In our tests, it was able to deliver sequential performance close to the limits of the SATA 3 interface.

The lucky reader who won this cool drive is Adrian Gentry – who is a driving instructor from Dorset. Full spec available here.

KitGuru says: We really appreciate the time that you take to tell us your opinions. It informs our editorial and allows us to create a better balance of  editorial in the future. Big THANK YOU to everyone who took part!
