Anyone looking at KitGuru.net will understand that we're a serious technology news, reviews and interviews site. That much is clear.
Head to our Facebook page however, and you will find a vibrant community of more than 152,000 people, with ‘KitGuru conversations' regularly taking place between more than 20,000 people at a time.
Whenever you've had enough of the testing and reporting, it's well worth heading over there for a gas about anything. One area that has been particularly energetic is the amount of comments and opinion that gets stirred up when readers post shots of their own system builds.
Some centre on the ‘Man Cave' itself – which could be close to Kubrick 2001 levels of pristine cleanliness – while others wallow in the fact that their dust bunnies have had grand children and are ready to apply for citizenship in their own right.
We wanted to recognise the hard work that our readers put into their systems and our community – without which KitGuru would be a shadow of what it is.
One chap, in particular, stood out.
His name is Vincent Chin and he spent almost 800 hours building an entire desk – complete with embedded system – and it looks really impressive. So impressive that it was shared more than 175 times from KitGuru's original post – and many more times further down the line.
For a while, a second ‘Vincent' tried to claim the honours for the build – but we tracked down the right person eventually. We had a brief chat with the REAL Vincent on Xmas Day and he confirmed that he presently working on his next masterpiece – and we'll bring you news on that just as soon as we have it.
By day, it looks cool – and protects itself against any kind of Sushi/Sashimi attack.
By night, it's just glorious.
KitGuru's award for Best Reader PC 2013 goes to Vncent Chin – amazing effort and thank you for bringing it to our reader's attention!
