At The Game Awards on Thursday night, RPG fans received a massive win with the announcement of Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. Despite being announced five years ago, we've had no official updates for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake. Originally in development at Aspyr, the game ended up shifting to Saber Interactive, but progress has been painfully slow from the outside looking in. Now, thanks to a former concept artist on the project, we have at least a small look at what the game was going to look like. 

Since its announcement many years ago, the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake has been mired with delays among other issues. Once again, following a long bout of silence the team have spoken out to confirm that work on KOTOR is still ongoing.

First announced back in 2021, the much-anticipated Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake has suffered from a number of setbacks including a change in development studio, rumours of its cancellation and more. While the game was recently confirmed to be “alive and well” it seems as though Sony no longer have any interest in the project.

While Embracer Group's CEO did not delight in taking on questions about the Knights of the Old Republic remake, Saber Interactive seems quite happy to discuss the project. The studio recently broke off from Embracer, going independent and taking the KOTOR remake project with it.
