We've heard very little out of Eidos-Montreal since being acquired by Embracer. The studio has been attempting to get a new Deus Ex game off the ground for several years but has struggled to obtain the greenlight from their new corporate overlords. 

Since acquiring the Tomb Raider and Deus Ex IPs, along with the Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montreal studios, Embracer Group has done very little with any of it. Amazon has stepped in to publish the next Tomb Raider game and reports indicate that a new Deus Ex game was put on ice. Now this week, both Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montreal have been hit by layoffs. 

Yesterday we received news that Embracer Group had cancelled a new Deus Ex game at Eidos Montreal. Now, that news seems to be confirmed, alongside confirmation that Eidos is also going to suffer a round of layoffs.

Embracer Group hit dire times in 2023 after an investment deal fell through. In the aftermath, some of the studios that have been acquired by Embracer Group in recent years have undergone layoffs, project cancellations and others have been completely shut down. The latest casualty in this saga seems to be an unannounced Deus Ex game...
