QSAN XCubeNAS XN5004T 4+1 bay NAS review

The ATTO Disk Benchmark performance measurement tool is compatible with Microsoft Windows. Measure your storage systems performance with various transfer sizes and test lengths for reads and writes. Several options are available to customize your performance measurement including queue depth, overlapped I/O and even a comparison mode with the option to run continuously.

Use ATTO Disk Benchmark to test any manufacturers RAID controllers, storage controllers, host adapters, hard drives and SSD drives and notice that ATTO products will consistently provide the highest level of performance to your storage.

Using a 1GbE interface the ATTO the average read/write scores of 118MB/s for the XN5004T are what you would expect from the interface. Switching over to the 10GbE card, we saw an average read score across the four arrays of 461MB/s. Write caching is enabled by default when a storage pool is created in the XN5004T which gives the write performance a hefty boost, with the average write score for the four arrays of 926MB/s.

We turned the write caching off in RAID 6 (10GbE) and re-ran ATTO. The write score dropped from 982MB/s down to 822MB/s. Reads also seemed to drop but only buy a little, dropping from 425MB/s to 406MB/s.
