ioSafe 216 2-Bay NAS Review

IOMeter is another open source synthetic benchmarking tool which is able to simulate the various loads placed on hard drive and solid state drive technology.

We set IOmeter up (as shown above) to test both backup and restore performance on a 100GB partition.

Both RAID setups failed to break the 100MB/s in our backup and restore tests although they got very close to doing so. Once again the ioSafe 216 showed how consistent its performance is between the two arrays.

  1. I guess with global warming and me living below sea level this is potentially interesting. But then, for that kind of money I can probably take the risk that my house won’t be flooded by an unexpected tsunami :/

  3. I have a question: how would this unit perform in streaming files, like decoding and watching a movie? would it be able to handle 4K videos as well? what about VR staffs?
