Overall we are impressed with what the Netgear R6300 has to offer. The eye catching design of the router is sure to entice the design conscious consumer, especially when close inspection highlights excellent build quality.
In terms of functionality, the R6300 also has a lot to offer. It incorporates a 4-port Gigabit Ethernet switch, in addition to both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 connections. This makes it ideal to attach storage to as well as a printer.
We also liked the functions built into the online software interface such as the Facebook Wi-Fi function.
The wireless performance was fairly impressive, even though it struggled a little on both bands at longer distance. Still, real world wireless performance was significantly better than the standard Virgin Media router we otherwise use, especially with multiple devices connected.
At a price of £130 from Pixmania, we feel that the Netgear R6300 is quite pricey. Regardless, it offers a lot for the money and we highly doubt that you will be disappointed with the overall performance.
