Patriot release new Gauntlet 320 network drive

Last December we reviewed the Patriot Gauntlet Node Portable Wireless 2.5″ HDD Enclosure and our guy LUKE gave it a ‘MUST HAVE' award, scoring 9 out of 10 points.

Patriot have just released a new version of the Gauntlet which features a beefy 320GB hard drive, for those people who just want an ‘all in one' solution out of the box.

There are several stores selling this in the United Kingdom today, although the best price seems to be via Overclockers UK for around the £133 inc vat mark.

Luke said about the Gauntlet Node “Streaming a variety of media files from HD MKV movies to loading 14 Megapixel JPG photos and Word-formatted DOCX files was easily handled by the Gauntlet Node. We didn’t encounter any problems with three different Android devices or a pair of Windows 7 PCs – the original file quality and format was preserved throughout.

Using the Gauntlet Node with a Windows computer was very simple. Once the computer is connected to the device and has accessed the relevant network folder, the process is no different to using the standard Windows interface.”

Kitguru says: A new ‘all in one' solution complete with storage. Seems like a sweet deal to us.
