Solidigm unveils world’s largest PCIe SSD

Solidigm is looking to solidify its leadership position in the storage market with a new high-capacity SSD. The new D5-P5336 SSD boasts a whopping 122TB of storage space, making it the world's highest capacity PCIe SSD.

Data storage power, thermal and space constraints are accelerating as AI adoption increases, and with the AI market still in boom, billions are being spent on upgrading datacentres to accelerate further AI development. Solidigm's new PCIe SSD could help datacentre operators to reduce the number of drives, freeing up rack space and reducing energy consumption.

With a whopping 122TB of space for drive, the D5-P5336 PCIe SSD is currently the highest capacity PCIe SSD in the world and consumes up to 84 percent less power compared to a NAS deployment. With so much storage packed into one drive, one rack unit can contain as much as 4 petabytes of storage, making it an excellent upgrade choice for space-constrained sites.

Unfortunately, this isn't a drive intended for the average consumer, or even enthusiast-level PC builders. Due to this, we don't actually know the pricing for these SSDs, but businesses can enquire with Solidigm for quotes.

KitGuru Says: You could install your entire Steam library on one of these and still have plenty of room to spare…
