The Ryos MK Pro ships in a black box with blue accents with a clear image of the keyboard and several key features listed on the front.
The back of the box lists these key features in different languages.
Inside the box is the ROCCAT Ryos MK Pro, a quick start guide and a transparent cover protecting the keyboard.
Along the top we can see the F-keys double as media keys. The F11 key serves to adjust the keyboard's lighting intensity and the F12 key lets users quickly record macros. Recorded macros can be assigned to one of the dedicated macro keys on the left side of the board (M1 – M5) or any of the other keys on the board.
Flipping the keyboard over reveals the cable channels and feet of the keyboard. The feet have a rubber surface to help maintain stability. There are also large rubber feet at each corner.
Moving to the left-hand side we can see the audio jacks. The right-hand side is where we find the two USB 2.0 ports, as well as some Ryos MK Pro branding.
Close-up shots of the keyboard show the dotted glossy surface which ROCCAT says is smudge proof. All key caps have been laser etched and UV coated to prevent the markings fading.
Getting up close with the Ryos MK Pro also shows the Caps Lock key's double function as the Easy-Shift[+] button. By holding down Caps Lock an alternative configuration can be used. Although not limited to any type of gamer, MMO and RTS players will find the Easy-Shift[+] function especially handy as it allows them to assign a secondary function to a key and quickly access it by holding down the Easy-Shift[+] button.
The ROCCAT brand name and logo are engraved on the wrist rest, whilst the markings on the glossy bezel remind us that this is a mechanical keyboard we are dealing with.
We can also see the three thumbster keys located centrally below the spacebar. These thumbster keys can be used individually and in combination with the Easy-Shift[+] button for increased flexibility in the heat of digital battle.
Removing one of the keycaps reveals the Cherry MX Black switch used in our review sample as well as an LED. Each key has an individual LED for true per-key lighting.
To round things out, the cable is rather chunky and features two USB connectors as well as an audio and mic jack. The entire cable is braided and a velcro band is included to keep the cable organized.
To highlight the Ryos MK Pro's lighting effects we cast ourselves into complete darkness and bumped the ISO on our camera up to 6400. [yframe url='http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5IvlPbFtmw']
Lovely looking keyboard, good build quality. Already using a Razer blackwidow but this looks equally impressive.
This keyboard is amazing, and I am going to assume that this keyboard isn’t going to be compatible with Roccat FX is it?
