The AOC G2460PQU is a chunky screen that incorporates one of the best monitor stands we have seen to date. AOC have ensured that you don't need any tools for assembly and the rotational and pivot functionality is second to none. It may not be svelte, but it is clearly built to take some punishment.
Technically the screen is not ideal for a graphic designer or photo editor. By default the colour curve is out of balance and the screen exhibits a slight blue bias. Even after manual adjustment, the colour curve was never completely accurate. Linearity and uniformity are average for the class, although text clarity and sharpness are very impressive.
Black Definition, white purity and viewing angles are all acceptable for the target audience although short of the best we have seen in our labs in the last year.
The screen excels with gaming and for many people the weaknesses mentioned above can be ignored. The 144hz refresh rate certainly helps when gaming, and our clan sources all complimented the screen for smoothness of image and responsive overall display.
Sadly there is no 3D support which may alienate a portion of the audience, even if the technology has yet to catch the imagination of the mainstream audience.
In spite of the technical shortcomings, there is much to recommend about the AOC G2460PQU, especially if you have a primary focus on gaming.
You can currently buy the AOC G2460PQU 144hz 24 inch monitor in the UK from Overclockers UK for £239.99 inc vat.
Pros:

- very smooth motion at 144hz.
Cons:
- Not 3D.
- Not ideal for colour critical environments.
- Faces a lot of competition between £200 and £300.
Kitguru says: A very capable screen designed to meet the needs of gamers.
My friend owns this screen and its great. Never really analysed the colour, but he just games and its a great screen for FPS games.
I am going to order this at the end of the month – thanks 🙂
when using the display port you only get 60 hz at 1080p, did you miss this? hoping a firmware update can fix this as else i can only eyefinity at 60hz.
One gets their moneys worth with this monitor. I shall be buying this monitor for my new gaming rig. I find the built in USB ports a very unique and useful feature to plug in Mouse and Keyboard. Keeping things tidy as I have my tower in the floor to the side.
