Philips launches 45B1U6900CH Superwide monitor with built-in webcam and mic

Last week, Philips announced its latest superwide monitor, the Philips 45B1U6900C, offering a way to simplify dual-monitor setups into a single 32:9 display with Double QHD resolution. Now, Philips is announcing the 45B1U6900CH, another version of the monitor, but with a built-in pop-up 5MP webcam and noise-cancelling microphone.

Like the Philips 45B1U6900C, the 45B1U6900CH has a 45-inch panel with 5120×1440 resolution, with 178°/178° viewing angles, DisplayHDR 400 capabilities, and a MultiClient Integrated KVM switch so you can control a dual-PC setup with one monitor and one keyboard/mouse, allowing you to reduce clutter and simplify your setup.

This monitor is primarily designed for professionals. It comes with a USB-C docking hub with RJ45, allowing you to connect a laptop to the monitor with USB-C and gain wired access to the network. The USB-C hub also has 100W power delivery, DisplayPort Alt mode and more. To help users work in almost any ambient light setting, the monitor’s TUV Rheinland Eyesafe RPF 50 certification ensures protection against blue light-induced eyestrain.

The big difference between the C and the CH versions is the built-in webcam and microphone. The webcam and microphone offer convenient and easy access to video conferencing. The webcam can be pushed back down and hidden away when not in use. The webcam also supports Windows Hello, so you can quickly log into your PC with a quick face scan.

While the 45B1U6900C is available at £939.99, the 45B1U6900CH is a little more expensive due to the built-in webcam and microphone, bumping the price up to £1029.99
