AOC’s new monitor is a competitive 1440p ultra-wide with G-Sync

AOC is looking to take on the likes of Asus and Acer in the high end ultra-wide monitor market with the new Agon AG352UCG. This is a massive 35-inch panel sporting a 3440×1440 resolution, G-Sync and a 100Hz refresh rate, making it a great choice for high-end PC gamers.

Aside from its resolution and variable refresh rate tech, the AOC Agon AG352UCG also sports a curvature radius of 2000mm, meaning the screen will take up more of your field of view and provide what many consider to be a more immersive experience.

Given the 3440×1440 resolution, getting beyond 100Hz won't be possible just yet but it will still provide a noticeably smoother experience than standard 60Hz displays. Given that this is an AOC display, it also features the company's flicker-free technology to help alleviate eye strain. The stand for this display overs height, tilt and swivel adjustments.

Here are the full specs:

  • Display: 35″ Curved VA at 100 Hz.
  • Resolution: 3440 x 1440 pixels.
  • Sync Technology: G-SYNC.
  • Signal Input: 1 x HDMI, 1 x DisplayPort, 4 x USB 3.0.
  • Audio out.
  • Microphone in/out.
  • AOC Ergo Base (height, tilt, swivel adjustment).
  • Stereo speakers.
  • 4 ms GtG response time.
  • 2000:1 contrast ratio.
  • 100% sRGB colour gamut.

The AOC Agon AG352UCG is set to hit the market in March this year with the competitive price tag of £799.

KitGuru Says: We are finally starting to see 3440×1440 ultra-wide G-Sync/100Hz monitors finally start to dip below the £900-£1000 mark, which is great to see. Are any of you looking to pick up a new monitor this year? What do you think of the latest offering from AOC?

  1. hahaha NOPE! I am still gonna buy Samsung one with FreeSync. That thing will cost a freaking $2000. No ty.

  2. I assume you are using a an AMD Video card then which at the point a G-sync Monitor wouldn’t provide any benefits to you. I Also wish to understand your math of conversion because 799 euros converts to 852 USD. And if u have a nvidia card, you wont be able to take advantage of Free Sync.

  3. Dude that ain’t euros.

  4. OK sorry a 1000 USD, the average price for ultra wide 34 inch monitors

  5. First, I am not using AMD card currently, I am using a GTX 980. Secondly, I will be upgrading to Vega 10, and for that I need a freesync monitor. And third, any ultrawide G-Sync monitor usually costs more than $1000, more like $1500.

  6. Well this one doesn’t cost that much. And I don’t see a point in complain about it the price when your statement on this specific monitor was very inaccurate and does not affect you since you are going Vega and Freesync

  7. Yes and the text says £799 which is just under $1000 at the current rate and as it’s in £ it likely includes tax, which dollar prices normally leave out. So nowhere near your $2000 remark. Which means it comes at a competitive price and isn’t that much more expensive.

  8. Mate this monitor is late to the market. Why did they not release this with 144Hz instead of 100Hz? Or perhaps a higher res like a 3820×1600 with a 100Hz? Oh yes, let me guess, DP 1.2, when we got 1.4 out in now.

Edit: BTW this monitor doesn’t even seem to support QD tech. Look at the 100% sRGB colour gamut < 125% (HDR) color gamut.

  9. And what GPU would you propose is gonna drive a 144fps@3440x1440p? Do you have any idea how demanding that would be during AAA Titles? I would say this Monitor is right on the nail for price to Performance ratio.

  10. Dual GTX 1080s? I guess? I agree it’s the best price/performance for ultrawide…

  11. That could work, but not everyone likes dual GPU set ups and not all games support SLI or SLI performance is not very great in others

  12. … That’s over 1 million less pixels than 5760x1080p.. And my over 2 year old GTX 970 mid range card (which by the way loses to an RX 470 4gb these days..) handles at 100fps+ when streaming..

Lower in CPU bound titles but that’s not the graphics cards fault.

So a decent mid-high end GPU especially in dx12 titles should manage it..

  13. Am HDR? Pass

  14. sounds like this is the same price as a good lg free syn monitor at 799. its aoc not asus or acer. its a cheaper brand.

  15. I only have a 1070 but at a guess I’m thinking at 144hz a 1440p ultra wide monitor is gona be imposible to run at 144 in mosat games even on a titan xp, maybe in 2 years time then that titan would probably be enough and game monitors will probably have that 144 hz speed. unless you take the graphics to low, that’s something I wont do. A good compromise for me is my 1070 with settings mostly on full some high at 100 hz. Personally I don’t see the improvement from aboput 80-100hz and then 144 so for me it doesn’t matter.

  16. Honestly, i’ve decided I will go with RX Vega and a 3840×1600 38″ Ultrawide IPS monitor (the Acer XR382CQK). It’s $1200 and I can go with that. 75Hz is still way off from 144Hz, but there is no 144Hz one right now anyway, and I need the ultrawide for my game development project. I need more space on my desktop, so screw the 144Hz. More accurate and better colors will make the games look prettier and with ultrawide 21:9, i would have an edge, rather than higher FPS.

  17. Pretty dumb tbh having it at 100hz…. and coming late to the game so I can understand the discounted price, however I won’t be buying one until they hit 144hz minimum with HDR @ 1440p. Kind of like the LG LM340UW3.

  18. Well I will buy a 75Hz Ultrawide monitor, because I can not see any more “smoothness” beyond that.
