The BenQ EW3880R boasts ultra-wide resolution and TreVolo sound

BenQ's latest addition to its extensive portfolio of monitors is the EW3880R, an ultrawide curved monitor suitable for home entertainment. Featuring a TreVolo sound system and a WQHD+ resolution, the EW3880R aims to provide “an unparalleled cinematic experience” from the comfort of your home.

The 38-inch IPS curved (2300R) panel with a 60Hz refresh rate, 3840×1600 resolution and 4ms of G2G response time make the EW3880R suitable for casual gaming, streaming and working. With a typical brightness of 1000nits and a 1000:1 contrast ratio, the 10-bit panel covers 95% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.

The EW3880R features BenQ's HDRi technology, which has two profiles: Cinema HDRi and Game HDRi, which modify colour settings to make gradations more subtle. Certified by TÜV Rheinland, this monitor has a low blue light mode and flicker-free technology to reduce eye strain, as well as Brightness Intelligence Plus, a feature that adjusts brightness and colour temperature automatically. Other features of this monitor include an ePaper mode to simulate an ebook and a colour weakness mode that helps colourblind folk see the difference in colours.

The built-in TreVolo 2.1 speaker system puts the EW3880R above the average monitor in the sound department. Powered by 2x 3W speakers and an 8W subwoofer, the EW3380R aims to offer better audio compared to other in-built sound solutions.

Available video outputs include 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, a USB-C port, 2x USB-A 3.0 ports, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The included stand also offers tilt, swivel and height adjustment.

We don't have pricing information just yet, but the BenQ EW3880R should be available soon.

KitGuru says: The EW3880R looks to be a great all-around monitor on paper. Hopefully soon we'll see some reviews to back that up. Are any of you currently shopping around for a larger ultra-wide display?
