MSI launches first 300Hz Mini LED gaming monitor and its first Xbox Edition gaming display

MSI is expanding its gaming display line-up with a new monitor specifically aimed at Xbox Series X|S owners, as well as the world's first 27-inch mini LED monitor with a 300Hz refresh rate.

The MPG321UR-QD Xbox Edition is a 32-inch monitor, packing a 4K IPS panel with 144Hz refresh rate, Quantum Dot technology and 1ms MPRT. Typical brightness is around 400nits, but it can peak up to 600nits with HDR mode enabled, certifying it with VESA DisplayHDR 600. The panel has a true 10-bit colour depth, and the contrast ratio is set at 1000:1. Colour coverage is quite extensive, achieving 99% of the AdobeRGB spectrum, 97% of the DCI-P3 colour space, and 143% of the sRGB gamut.

Aimed at Xbox Series X|S gamers, the Xbox Edition of this monitor packs multiple console-oriented features, such as Sound Tune, Smart Brightness, Smart Crosshair, Optix Scope Night Vision AI, and KVM features with controller support. Connectivity options include a DP 1.4a, 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB-C with DP alt. mode, 9x USB-A 2.0 ports, and a variety of audio jacks. The included stand allows users to tilt, swivel and adjust the height, but it can be replaced by a 100x100mm VESA-compatible monitor arm to enhance its ergonomics.

On the other hand, the MSI 271Q Mini LED is for those looking for the best of both worlds. This monitor's 27-inch Rapid IPS panel can handle 300Hz refresh rates at WQHD resolutions while offering 1ms G2G response times and covering 97% of the DCI-P3 spectrum.

The 271Q Mini LED has 500 dimming zones with over 1000 mini LEDs, offering deeper black levels for an improved viewing experience, whether HDR is enabled or not. Moreover, it supports Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate technology (Reflex included) and is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified, so expect at least 1000nits of peak brightness.

KitGuru says: Although the MPG321UR-QD Xbox Edition is aimed at Xbox Series X|S owners, it looks like it could fit into a setup without a console.
