Latest Alienware monitors offer up to 360Hz gaming

Dell Alienware has recently unveiled two new high-refresh-rate gaming monitors. If you prefer a higher refresh rate over resolution, the AW2523HF is the one to go for. If you choose to sacrifice some Hz to increase the resolution, then you'll likely pick the AW2723DF.

Starting with the smaller of the two, the Dell Alienware AW2523HF features a 24.5-inch Fast IPS panel with a FullHD resolution, 1ms G2G response time and a whopping 360Hz refresh rate. With a typical brightness of 400nits and an 8-bit colour depth, the panel covers 99% of the sRGB colour spectrum. Additionally, the monitor supports AMD Freesync Premium and is VESA Adaptive Sync Display certified.

For increased eye comfort when using the monitor, there's a low blue light mode and flicker-free technology. On the side of the monitor, there's a slide-out hook for the headphones, and on the back, you can find AlienFX RGB LEDs. The included stand lets you pivot (bi-directional), adjust the height, tilt and swivel. Moreover, it features a cable management bracket to hide the hanging cables. Available connectivity interfaces include 4x USB-A 3.2 Gen1, 2x HDMI 2.0, a DisplayPort 1.4, a 3.5mm jack for headphones and a line-out for speakers.

In addition to the AW2523HF, Dell Alienware also revealed the AW2723DF. Unlike the other, this one feature a 27-inch Fast IPS panel with QHD resolution, 1ms G2G response time and a 280Hz refresh rate (OC). The 600nits of peak brightness and 10-bit (8-bit+FRC) colour depth allows the panel to cover up to 100% of the sRGB colour space and 95% of the DCI-P3 spectrum.

The AW2723DF specifications fulfil the requirements for it to be VESA DisplayHDR 600 and Adaptive and Display-certified. Moreover, it supports AMD Freesync Premium Pro and is Nvidia G-Sync-compatible. Like the AW2523HF, it features a low blue light mode and flicker-free technology. However, this one uses a TUV Rheinland hardware solution for low blue light.

Other similarities with the AW2523HF include the side hook for the headphones and the AlienFX LEDs on the back. The monitor stand offers pivot (bi-direction), height adjustment, tilt, swivel capabilities, and cable management. Connectivity-wise, it has the same interfaces as the AW2523HF, including 4x USB-A 3.2 Gen1, 2x HDMI 2.0, a DisplayPort 1.4, a 3.5mm jack for headphones and a line-out for speakers.

The Dell Alienware AW2523HF will launch on September 7th for £400/$450. As for the AW2723DF, it will be available for sale on October 6th for £519/$650.
