Asus ROG Strix XG27AQM packs a QHD Fast IPS panel with 270Hz refresh rate

ASUS isn't slowing down on new gaming monitor announcements. Not only is the ROG Strix XG43UQ close to hitting the market, but there is a new impressive high refresh rate display on the way for gamers that prefer QHD resolution – the ROG Strix XG27AQM.

Featuring a 27-inch Fast IPS display with a 270Hz refresh rate, 0.5ms G2G response time, and a QHD resolution, the ROG Strix XG27AQM has everything a gamer could want from a new monitor. Console mode is also included, so Xbox Series X/S and PS5 owners can access higher frame rates of up to 120Hz in supported games.

The panel features a peak brightness of 400nits, 8-bit colour depth, and a 1000:1 contrast ratio, covering 150% of the sRGB colour spectrum and 97% of the DCI-P3 wide colour space.

The ROG Strix XG27AQM is certified by VESA as a DisplayHDR400 capable display. It's also Nvidia G-Sync compatible and supports Asus Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB SYNC) to eliminate ghosting and tearing. As with most premium gaming monitors, there's an extensive set of gaming-oriented features, including Dynamic Shadow Boost, GamePlus overlay enhancements, GameVisual presets, and flicker-free and ultra-low blue light technologies.

The back of the monitor has a ROG logo with Asus Aura Sync lighting technology that users may synchronise with other Aura-enabled components and peripherals. For connectivity, this monitor includes 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, 2x DisplayPort 1.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB 3.0 upstream port, and 2x USB-A 3.0 ports. The included stand offers tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments capabilities. It also supports VESA 100x100mm wall mounting.

KitGuru says: With a 270Hz refresh rate, this looks to be one of the fastest QHD monitors on the market. One has to wonder though, what kind of monster PC would you need to push this monitor to its limits?
